It’s… Michael Palin

My local book shop was lucky enough to have Michael Palin come by to sign the first volume of his diaries last Friday [http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.co.uk%2FDiaries-1969-1979-Python-Michael-Palin%2Fdp%2F0297844369%2Fsr%3D8-1%2Fqid%3D1165267312%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Dbooks&tag=hmobiuscom-21&linkCode=ur2&camp=1634&creative=6738] . Having had to buy the book and then sit around reading it for a good two hours before he appeared and we chatted for twenty seconds, I can safely say that I am definitely looking forward to reading the rest of his book and that he is not dead yet, passed on to meet his maker, singing with the choir invisible, etc, just yet. He’s doing a new travel series next year too. Maybe he’ll be signing his new travel book at our shop this time next year too.

As Michael was signing, a youth wandered past with her mates and said “Who’s he then? What’s he done?” Just your average national treasure love. He’ll be around longer than your king of the jungle [http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6198146.stm?ls], that’s for sure.
