Doubling Up To 64 Bits

With Windows XP 64bit [http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/default.mspx] now in RC1, and Windows 2003 Server 64bit [http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/64bit/x64/trial/default.mspx] also looking like a healthy bet for the summer, what else is around? Andrew Duthie points out [http://weblogs.asp.net/gduthie/archive/2005/02/03/366491.aspx] that MS is now running Route 64 [http://www.route64.net], a 64bit 3-day training lab. For those of us who can’t afford it or don’t live in the country meanwhile, planetamd64.com [http://www.planetamd64.com/] contains the basic info you need on the hardware driver front, Avast [http://www.avast.com]Antivirus and Agnitum Outpost Firewall both have 64bit versions and both SQL Server 2000/2005 [http://www.microsoft.com/sql/64bit/]and VS.NET 2005 [http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/programming/64bit/devtools/]both have 64bit beta versions. What more could you need? Oh wait. There’s no 64bit WMP yet. Damn, where’s XP64 RC2?
